WEEK OF APRIL 2, 2007
Sunday’s flounder opener resulted in a poor start in the area of
The
Narrows
and Smith Point. Anglers who worked hard at it got a fish or two at best. East
winds and the lack of sunshine certainly didn’t help the situation. Some of
the livelier spots were south of buoy 11 and buoy 5. Heavy chum will make the
difference. With better tide and weather by the weekend, the area should get
going.
On the other side of the bay, the
Quogue
Canal
fared much better as some anglers had up to eight fish in two hours time. The
area of the first bridge is where to be. Bring along plenty of chum along with
worms and mussels for the hook.
