Membership
Since
1965 the Moriches Anglers Fishing Club has endeavored to promote and preserve
the fine tradition of saltwater fishing in Moriches Bay as well as the
surrounding waters of Long Island. Club members strive on sportsmanship and
conservation as well as maintaining the stabilization of both Moriches Inlet and
the Moriches Artificial Reef. However it does not stop there. Club members enjoy
all the great activities sponsored by our club. For starters our monthly meeting
include, fine food, spectacular guest speakers, and “how to” seminars by
experts within the club at least three times a year. Family activities include a
soup to nuts barbecue picnic at Newport Beach each September on the following
Sunday after Labor Day, A kids and Spouse only fluke and sea robin tournament
accompanies the picnic during the morning hours while the kids enjoy a onsite
snapper derby during the afternoon. December is our Christmas Party bash, which
includes plenty of good, eats as well as raffles and gift giving. The Christmas
party is also our Awards night, where throughout the season, club members
compete for such titles as Inshore and Offshore Angler of the year, Inshore and
Offshore Captain of the year, Fish of the year and so on. Aside from handsome
plaques, these titles win top anglers Penn International Rods and Reels, cash
and an assortment of other tackle. There are also awards for runner ups and 3rd
place. Therefore if you fish hard, you got a great shot at a slice of the pie.

real pride and joy are our Shark and Fluke Tournaments where anglers from all
