Moriches Anglers Guest Speaker at our April meeting was Tony Pagan.

Tony has a very unique talent, he builds replicas of old wooden ships to scale . All of the rigging on the models work as they did on the original ship.

Tony with the H.M.S. Culloden. The ship was built in England in 1776. Sunk off Fort Pond Bay in Montauk NY on January 29, 1781. The model is 38 inches long. It was made from Mahogany, Walnut, White and Black  Oak, Poplar, Maple and the bark of a Pear tree. All hardware was hand made to scale.  It took 3 years to complete. The H.M.S Culloden will soon be on display at the Montauk Light House.

Next ship is Nuestra Senora de Atocha
