Update on the work being performed at and around Moriches Inlet;

The East and West cuts leading to the inlet have permanent buoys, 3 in the East Cut & 3 in the West cut.

The jetty's are being rebuilt at the ends that have collapsed over the years and new permanent lights are being installed on top of new 6' diameter sewer pipe that have been secured to the Jetty and filled with concrete where the new lights will be mounted giving sea going vessels greater visibility when trying to find the inlet when entering.

The scope of the inlet dredging is as follows:

The sandbar inside the inlet on the East side will be shaved down but not totally removed.

The inlet is to be dredged from the tips of the Jetty's out 3,000 feet, depth not stipulated.

All sand is being pumped to the West side of the Jetty rebuilding the beach in a westerly direction approximately rebuilding 2,500 ft of beach.

Safe boating. End of report!
